Today, we are helping a family from Staffordshire in need of kindness.

Miriam is a mum of two. She has disabilities and is also struggling with depression and anxiety. Her husband is her full-time carer. They have a 13 year old son who has autism and their daughter, who is 15 years old, is classed as a young carer, due to their circumstances. She helps to care for her little brother and her mum every day.

Their day-to-day life is incredibly difficult, and we want to do something to help them this Christmas.

One thing that Miriam has been trying to do is to buy new carpet for the children’s bedrooms. At the moment, their bedroom floors have a type of carpet tile, which is very scratchy and uncomfortable to walk on. 

So, 52 Lives and Gala Bingo  are going to be carpeting the children’s bedroom as a special surprise for Christmas. As well as the carpet, we also want to give the children some Christmas gifts. Miriam’s daughter was given some horseriding lessons by a young carer’s charity, which she absolutely loved. Miriam feels guilty that isn’t able to let her daughter ride very often, as it’s just too expensive. 52 Lives and Gala Bingo will be giving her daughter 10 riding lessons for Christmas, so she can have a much-needed break doing something she loves. Miriam’s son loves football, but doesn’t get the chance to see matches very often. So we will also be buying tickets for a match for he and his dad, so they can spend some relaxing time together out of the house.
