This week 52 Lives visited the amazing Carlisle Infants School in Hampton.
The day was a tremendous success and the children at Carlisle Infants encapsulated all the attributes that 52 Lives stands for. Our Director of Kindness, Greig, was joined by 52 Lives founder, Jaime, and the welcome we received from Mrs Allum and the children was wonderful.
The children were told about this week's life, Caleb, and after hearing his story they were eager to send some kindness his way.
Caleb is six years old and sadly suffers from a rare condition called Late Infantile Batten Disease. It is degenerative and over time he will lose the ability to walk, talk, see, eat and eventually become bed ridden. Sadly, there is no treatment and there is no cure. Children with this disease are unlikely to make it past their teenage years. With Caleb's birthday coming up, the children at Carlisle could not wait to get busy and show Caleb some kindness by sending him some birthday love. They made cards, posters, gifts and video messages to wish him a happy birthday and let him know that he is loved and supported, even by children that have never met him.
See below for a glimpse of what the children got up to....
