This week the School Kindness Project travelled to the beautiful Bromsgrove School in Worcestershire to celebrate their Kindness Day.
Our Director of Kindness Greig spent the day at the school giving presentations and working with children from years 5 and 6. It was an extraordinary day and the pupils were a pure joy to work with. All of them were enthusiastic about spreading kindness.
The children were told about a little girl called Kitty who is going through a very difficult time indeed. Kitty's father, Manish, was recently diagnosed with an incurable form of bowel cancer and has sadly been given little time to live. Kitty's mum, Kathy, recently gave birth to a gorgeous baby boy which has lifted the family so much but knowing how unwell her father is has been very difficult for Kitty.
The children at Bromsgrove School wanted to show Kitty just how much she is in their thoughts by sending her love-filled cards, letters, video messages, gifts and possibly the best group message ever. It was incredible to see and Kitty's mum said that her and the family were truly overwhelmed by the caring and generosity of this marvellous school. As you can see from Kitty's smile, she had the most wonderful time reading the heartfelt cards and gifts.
This is a message from Kitty's mum -
Kitty arrived home from school to a big box of beautiful well wishes from the children of Bromsgrove school. She’s totally overwhelmed and is feeling very loved. We are sat reading through them all and talking about how kind people can be.
Thank you to everyone who sent her a message of kindness.
Love Kathy, Manish, Kitty and Mani xxx
