This week, the 52 Lives School Kindness Project headed to two wonderful primary schools in Wokingham and Essex.
Latton Green Primary in Essex was the first on the list and an incredible day was had by all. Our Director of Kindness Greig was overwhelmed by the kindness and engagement shown by these wonderful children and was immediately impressed when he walked into Latton Green Primary to find a Kindness Tree filled with beautiful acts of kindness the children had performed.
Evandons School in Wokingham was next up and Greig couldn't believe it when he walked into the hall and saw the words 'Kindness Matters' displayed in enormous letters proudly overlooking the school hall.
It was evident in both schools that kindness plays an important and necessary part in teaching children about the things that can have the biggest difference in the world. The teachers also encapsulated all the kindness stands for and this was displayed in their friendliness, generosity and consideration to Grieg.
This week the children at both schools were asked to help a little girl called Kelsie. Kelsie's father is in the army and as a result, has to move around quite a lot. Kelsie has struggled to settle into her latest school and was being bullied. Kelsie's mum Dani contacted 52 Lives to ask if we could do something to put smile on her little girls face and let her know that she is loved and supported by so many people.
Upon hearing Kelsie's story the children at Latton Green and Evandons could not wait to let this little girl know how special and loved she really is.
The children made cards, friendship bracelets, fortune tellers, games, comic books strips with Kelsie as the superhero, wrote letters and sent loving and supportive video messages. It was a truly beautiful sight to behold.
