This week we would like to help change the life of a 5 year old girl from Manchester called Hannah.
Hannah has had complex needs since the day she was born. She has brain damage, is sight impaired, has epilepsy, can’t speak, and needs help to sit or stand. Her mum Tabby has fought for years to ensure Hannah gets the care and equipment she needs but it’s a constant struggle. Hannah’s dad works in a call centre and his mum works part time while Hannah is at school to try to help pay for the extra things Hannah needs.
They have managed to move into a bungalow, which has help them a lot, as stairs made life a lot harder for Hannah. But Hannah is still in need of some things that will improve her life - sensory toys to help her development and an iPad to allow her to access apps that can help her communicate.
Her mum said: “Hannah has been through so much since she was born but is always smiling and fighting. I just want to be able to give my daughter the things she needs to help her now and in the future as well. She needs sensory toys to develop the use of her hands and to get her to reach out for things, and an iPad will help her to make choices and also use more sounds to try and say small words...it will start Hannah becoming more independent which I have always wanted. I do not want Hannah's disabilities to stop her from doing anything she wants."
We would love to show this family some kindness and buy Hannah all the things she needs to help her development and enable her to communicate more easily.
