This week, we’d like to help an 8 year old boy from Shropshire called Liam.
Liam lives in a small flat with his mum. It is cold, the floors are bare and in bad condition, there are electric wires that are unsafe, and the furniture in his bedroom is all falling apart.
Liam and his mum have had a difficult time. Liam witnessed his mum being abused by her partner over a long period of time. It is just the two of them now, but creating a nice home environment hasn’t been an easy task. Liam‘s mum has back injuries, so she can’t easily move or lift things. She was recently made redundant from her job, which means for now they are living on benefits with no money leftover to improve their living conditions or to get Liam the things he needs. The bare floors are making the heating bills higher, but there’s no way they can afford carpet. They need to fix the dangerous wires, but can’t afford the labour.
Liam was nominated by some of the care professionals who are helping him. They said Liam is desperately in need of proper furniture for his bedroom, and a warm, safe home.
With your help, we’d like to give him one.
