#209 Children in crisis

Request: PJs / Bedding / Messages

This week, we’d like to help dozens of children who have fled their homes, and who are feeling scared and unsettled.

Berkshire Women’s Aid has refuges across Reading, Wokingham and Bracknell. They take in women and children in crisis – most are fleeing from a violent partner.

Sometimes children arrive at the refuge with nothing....not even a pair of pyjamas to wear.

The refuge would love to be able to help children feel at home during a very unsettling time in their lives. So with your help, we want to make sure every child who arrives at the refuge receives a new pair of pyjamas and a choice of fun bedding to use while they are there.

Pyjamas and bedding won’t change their circumstances, but it might help to make the whole experience a little bit better for them.

What We Need

1. New children's pyjamas and bedding - We have set up an Amazon wishlist filled with pyjamas, duvet sets, pillows and towels. If these are bought, we will also add some other items the refuges need. To buy something from the list to help a child arriving at a refuge, please click the link below.

2. New fitted sheets and pillows - To help the refuges even more, we need 30 sets of new single fitted sheets and new pillows for 30 beds. We are hoping to find a kind company who maybe able to help with these items. If you have a company that can help, or if you know someone who might be able to help, please let us know by filling in the form below.

3. New women's pyjamas and robes - If we can, we would also like to supply 30 sets of pyjamas and robes for the women who arrive at the refuge with nothing. We need new pyjamas and robes in all different shapes and sizes. We are hoping to find a kind company who maybe able to help with these items. If you have a company that can help, or if you know someone who might be able to help, please let us know by filling in the form below.
