This week, we’d like to help a woman called Hayley who has sadly lost two babies.
Her eldest child died at birth as the cord was wrapped around her neck. Hayley was devastated. During Hayley’s second pregnancy, she was anxious and desperate for her baby to be born safe and well. Just before her due date, Hayley’s second baby suffered from an infection in the womb and was stillborn.
During her third pregnancy, Hayley’s anxiety levels were severe, to the point where she couldn’t even leave the house. Thankfully, her daughter was born healthy. But shortly after, Hayley was diagnosed with PTSD. She blames herself for the loss of her first two babies, and it has affected every part of her life. She lost her job, has night terrors and struggles to function. The family was already struggling after Hayley lost her job, and then her husband (who works at a fast food chain) and was furloughed. At the same time, their washing machine and boiler both broke down. So they’ve been without both of those things for months.
Hayley’s mental health worker said she is an incredibly compassionate woman, but struggles to believe that she is deserving of help or kindness.
We’d love to show her that she is.
