Request: Donations / Things for their home / Kind messages

This week, we’d like to help Kelly, a single mum who has been living in temporary accommodation with her two young children after escaping domestic violence.

Kelly left her partner in 2018 and spent the next two years in YMCA accommodation with her daughters, aged 4 and 2. They have finally just moved into a council flat, which will now be their permanent home.

Both children are under a ‘Child in Need’ plan and have social workers, due to the domestic violence issues as well as concern about Kelly’s mental health. It was their social workers who nominated Kelly for some support. They said Kelly has been under a lot of strain, made even worse by Covid and the recent lockdowns. She is struggling to cope, both emotionally and financially, and receives little support from anyone. Their flat doesn’t have any kitchen appliances, and the floor is breaking apart in places.

With your help, we’d like to get Kelly and her daughters the things they need and help to create a proper home for the 3 of them.
