Request: Donations / Gifts / Messages

This week, we’re trying to help a single mum with disabilities and her two children (aged 7 and 11), who have been doing everything they can to help her.

Elise has severe hip and back problems and lives with a lot of pain. She said: “It can render me useless to do anything at all. The children help me as much as they can.”

Elise is a single parent and the children’s dad doesn’t help financially at all, so they are often struggling for money. When they were together, he was abusive and controlling…he prevented her from talking to people and kept her very isolated.

They were nominated by a family support worker. She has been visiting the family and said : “The living room is cold and the children’s bedrooms are sparsely furnished….both the children try so hard at school and around the home to help their mum, and they would really benefit from some kindness.”

We’d like to help. We would like to provide some things for the children’s bedrooms and the rest of the home, a chest freezer so Elise and the kids can do more batch-cooking, and some carpet for the living room to help make it warmer and more comfortable for them.

What We Did

Thanks to all of you, we were able to provide carpet, beds, bedding, a dining table for them to eat at and lots of other things for the children and for the home. We were also able to provide some vouchers to help with groceries. It has made their lives so much better – thank you for helping them.
