This week, we’d like to help a 20 year old woman called Tildy.
Tildy’s mum has significant mental health issues. She had post-natal depression and was hospitalised when Tildy was 5. When Tildy was 10, her mum was hospitalised again for 7 months. Her nan looked after her when her mum wasn’t able to.
Tildy struggled a lot at school. She developed severe anxiety and was also being bullied, to the point where she ended up being placed in a pupil referral unit. With the extra support, she did really well and finished her GCSEs.
Since leaving school and leaving home, Tildy has been moving between different types of temporary accommodation. She has a toddler and a baby, and very little support.
Tildy is trying to study around her children to gain some qualifications. She is doing an online beauty course and wants to do a lot more training so she can make a career for herself. They have just moved into a 2 bedroom council flat that is bare (the floor has nails and splintered bits of wood poking out everywhere).
One of her support workers said: “Any support 52 Lives could give would definitely improve life for this vulnerable young family.”
We’d like to help make Tildy's house a home, provide some clothes and toys for her children, and also raise some funds to pay for further training courses for her.
