This week, we’d like to help make life better for dozens of children in need of clothes.
Every now and then, our friends at The Magpie Project reach out for some support for the families they work with. They help mums and children under five who are living in temporary accommodation in Newham (in this area alone there are 2000 homeless children under 5). Most of the families are living in one room in shared houses or hostels and The Magpies do what they can to try to make sure the children’s long-term well-being is not affected by this period of homelessness.
The families they help are in crisis. Many have no access to public funds, which means they rely on charities for their food and clothes.
In a couple of weeks, The Magpies are running a special event, where the families can come and ‘shop’ for clothes (using tokens). But they are running very low on winter items that the children will soon need.
With your help, we’d like to fill their ‘shop’ with winter clothes, so the children can choose everything they need.
