This week, we’d like to provide some essential homewares for dozens of women and children living in poverty.
Emmeline's Pantry is a food bank based in Manchester that we work with from time to time. They provide food, toiletries and moral support to women and children in need.
Many of the people they help are living in women’s refuges, shared housing, or single hotel rooms and find themselves with nothing when they find permanent accommodation. They're often dealing with severe hardship, trauma or domestic violence. Moving into a bare house without the basic things they need makes life so much harder.
We’d like to make sure Emmeline’s Pantry's store room is stocked with essential household items, to give to the families when they're ready to move into a permanent home.
We have set up a wishlist filled with the most commonly needed items - cutlery, plates, utensils, rugs, towels, bedding, pans and mops. We’ll use any financial donations to buy other items they need.
(Last week, we also sent the food bank 150 Easter eggs to give to children over Easter weekend)
