This week, we’re trying to help a woman called Mia and her 3 children.
Mia has a 5 year old daughter, who is autistic, a 3 year old son and an 11 month old baby girl, who is having treatment in hospital at the moment.
Her ex-partner had been violent in the past but Mia hoped things would change. Then one evening, he hit their 5 year old daughter. The next day Mia packed a few bags, took the children and left.
For the past 8 months, they have been moving between hotels and relatives’ homes - often with all of them living in one room. It has been really tough on all of them but Mia knew they couldn’t go back. They have just been given the keys to a council house, but they only have a few clothes and toys to take with them.
They were nominated by the family support worker at her child’s school. She said they are a family so deserving of kindness and that some support with setting up their home would make such a positive difference to their lives.
