This week, we’d like to help a teenage couple who are expecting their second baby.
Milly was removed from her mum when she was 4 due to neglect and addiction issues and placed into care. She was moved between children’s homes and foster homes for the next 12 years.
Milly has always struggled to trust people but met a boy called Ben when she was 16 – he had also had a troubled childhood. They have been together for the past 3 years and have a 1 year old daughter together. Their second baby is due in August.
They have no family support at all and are very isolated.
Milly was nominated by her social worker, who said they are a lovely couple who just want to grow a happy, healthy family filled with all the love and security that they never had.
“I know with the right help and support, Milly will shine, and Ben is a very hands-on dad and so supportive of Milly.”
They have been living in a sparsely furnished home that has no carpet and no curtains. Ben is looking for work as a labourer to try to support them, and Milly will be at home with the children.
Milly and Ben haven't had much kindness in their lives and are in need of some support. We’d like to provide some carpet and curtains, some things they'll need for the children, and also provide travel cards so Milly can get to baby and toddler groups to help her make friends and build a local support network.
