#443 Irene

Request: Donations / Gifts / Kind messages

This week, we’d like to help a woman called Irene and her 5 year old daughter.

Irene and her daughter have been moving between women’s refuges and temporary accommodation for the past 5 years, after Irene fled a violent relationship. Most of the accommodation they were placed in had no furniture - Irene even had to sleep on the floor with her newborn daughter.

They have just relocated to a new area, where they know no-one, and have moved into more permanent accommodation. Her daughter has also started a new school - her fifth one in two years.

They were nominated by their support worker, who asked if we could help to create a proper home for them both. For Irene’s daughter, this will be the first permanent home she has ever had. We’d love to make sure they have everything they need.

What We Did

Thanks to your donations, we have been able to help furnish their home and make sure they have all the things they need – including a sofa, wardrobes, washing machine and dining table, to name just a few. You also provided kitchenware, bedding, toys, and so many bits and pieces that have helped to create the first proper home they’ve had in years. Their support worker said she can already see the difference in them. Thank you so much for helping to make their lives better.
