This week we’d like to help a single mum called Nikita from Berkshire who recently lost her 5 year old daughter.
Nikita had twin girls. One of the twins was diagnosed with a brain tumour in January and sadly passed away in April. For those three months, Nikita and her other daughter stayed in the hospital room every day and night to be with her. It was traumatic for Nikita and really hard on her daughter as well. She was watching her twin sister and best friend slowly become more unwell, and her normal life of school and friends had been stripped away.
Nikita has no family support and the girls’ dad has never been involved so she was dealing with all of this on her own. She wasn’t able to work and had the added cost of buying food at the hospital every day, so got behind on her bills.
They were nominated by a social worker from a cancer charity, who said: “The additional worry of debts alongside the grief she is trying to process and supporting her daughter through this is adding a lot of pressure on the family.”
“This family has always gone above and beyond for others and are now struggling themselves. They could really do with some kindness.”
We’d like to pay off Nikita’s debts, send them some food and clothing vouchers to take some pressure off the next few months, and provide some things for their home and toys for her daughter.
