Request: Donations / Coats / Kind Messages

As the weather starts to turn colder, we want to help as many children as possible to stay warm.

This week, we’d like to stock up a special ‘shop’ that provides warm coats and pramsuits for children under 5 who are living in extreme poverty in Newham.

It’s run by The Magpie Project for the women and children the charity supports.

The shop will be up and running in October, and we want to make sure there is enough stock for every child – there are over 250 children and we are aiming to contribute coats for at least 100 of them.

We’ve set up a wishlist filled with some of the things needed, and will use your donations to buy more. You can also send good quality second-hand children’s coat and pramsuits.

What We Need

1. Coats and pram suits from a wishlist: We've set up an Amazon wishlist filled with coats and pram suits in the sizes they need. To buy something from the wishlist, please click below. You will be taken to Amazon, where you can choose something which will be sent directly to Magpies to give to the children who need them. Just tick 'this is a gift' and choose the 'gift registry address' when you checkout.

2. Donations: 100% of what you give will be used to buy items the children need. You can donate online or by text using the details below.

3. Kind messages: To send a kind message to any of the families we're helping, please either email it to admin@52-lives.org (we will pass your message along but your contact details will not be shared). Or you can post a message to: 52 Lives (Magpies), PO Box 3154, Reading, RG1 9AT.

Do you have good quality second hand coats or pramsuits for children under 5? These can be posted or dropped to The Magpie Project, Grassroots Centre, Memorial Park, Memorial Avenue, London, E15 3DB. Drop off hours are Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays 10 til 2pm. Please only donate items that are of a quality that you would be happy to gift to a friend. No holes or stains or please.
