This week we’d like to help Irma. She has serious mobility problems and also cares for her mum, who has advanced dementia.
Irma has nerve damage in her back and has had two operations. She can’t bend down or walk far, and struggles to lift one of her legs. She has also been left partially incontinent and needs painkillers just to get out of bed in the mornings.
Despite all of this, Irma is also a full-time carer for her mum, who has advanced dementia and needs 24 hour care.
Irma was nominated by the family’s social worker from the NHS. They are in the process of trying to get a package of support for the family but in the meantime they are in need of help.
Irma’s mum isn’t eligible for any benefits so they live solely on Irma’s small income. They have fallen behind on their rent and bills and Irma is completely overwhelmed. We’d like to do something kind for her.
We’d like to raise funds to cover rent and bills to take some of her worries away. We’d also like to provide a computer for her teenage son – something Irma has been wanting to do for him, but hasn’t been able to.
