This week, we’d like to help a 4 year old boy called Dominic, who has just moved in with his dad, Ben.

Dom’s mum struggled with alcohol and her mental health. The relationship completely broke down and Dom’s dad had to leave. He tried to make it work, but her behaviour was too erratic and he feared for their son’s welfare. Dom stayed living with his mum initially, but the courts have just placed him in Ben's care.

Ben had been sofa surfing but has managed to find a house for him and Dom to live in.

Ben usually works as a labourer but had an operation last year and hasn’t been able to work. He has limited use of one leg, so it will be a struggle to go back to his old profession, but he is looking for work again. He and Dom are starting from scratch in this new property and they need some help.

He has managed to find bits and pieces from charity shops and Facebook giveaway sites but there are still quite a lot of things they need.

They were nominated by Dom’s social worker, who said Ben has been really proactive and is trying to give Dom everything he needs, but some extra help would make a big difference to this little boy’s life.
