Until 2013, Jaime Thurston, 36, was a stay-at-home mother to Abbey, six, and Max, four.

But then, she launched her mission to help the needy by setting up website 52 Lives, which aims to transform the life of a different person every week.

She has since used the hundreds of thousands of pounds raised via the site to, among many other life-changing acts of kindness , buy Christmas presents for a struggling single mother and new teeth for a young man who had his removed to minimise the infection risk after dramatic heart surgery.
