Mental Health Awareness Week 2021: Teaching Resources
May 09, 2021 | Latest News
It's Mental Health Awareness Week - a time to focus on things we can do to improve our well-being. One of the simplest things we can do for our mental health is to experience kindness. Research has shown that whether we're being kind, receiving kindness or even just witnessing kindness, dopamine is released into our body, which helps to boost our mood.
Through our School of Kindness, we work in primary schools to teach children about the science of kindness and the impact it has on our minds and bodies. We want children (and adults) to see kindness not just as a 'nice thing to do' but as a tool to improve their own mental health.
We have a whole range of free teaching resources perfect for Mental Health Awareness Week, and also run free Kindness Workshops for schools and a free Kids' Kindness Club. You can find them at www.schoolofkindness.org
