New shoes for children in need
December 01, 2021 | Latest News
Our friends at The Magpie Project were chatting to us over the summer about the problem they have finding proper-fitting shoes for the children they work with. (The Magpie Project supports mums and children under 5 living in temporary accommodation, who are in extreme poverty).
The second hand shoes that are donated for the children rarely fit properly and they were worried about giving out shoes that could damage little growing feet.
So, with some extra funding we received, we decided to help. It’s taken a few months and some collaboration with Clarks and Westfield Stratford - but it has all come together!
More than 200 children have been able to visit their local Clarks and have their feet properly measured for the first time, and walk away in brand new, comfy shoes. We are so happy to have been part of making this happen.
