We have just been able to help 19-year-old Ty with his charitable venture to provide short breaks for families caring for children with disabilities. Ty has become a local hero in Mersea Island…he’s affectionately called Ty the Beach Hut Guy. He has autism and a learning disability and spends his time trying to help others.

He has been creating accessible beach huts…inspired by his brother, who sadly died when Ty was 5. He had complex disabilities and could never access the beach.

We heard that Ty was looking for help to do up a static caravan to provide proper holidays for families. He was in need of funding for a hoist, which we were very happy to provide…and it has arrived!

Well done Ty – what you’ve created is incredible. We hope it brings respite and joy to lots of families.
